Hi,

Having a temperature of 99.6 is not considered high fever. However, I should know first what kind of infection you have been diagnosed and what was your condition when you left hospital.

That is very important in order to understand your current health situation and take proper treatment.

At the moment, I can only suppose that you are having a viral infection. You can take OTC pain killers to relieve pain. If no improvement, you should go back to hospital as you might need other drugs than just pain killers.

Wish fast recovery!
