What Causes Throbbing Pain In Tooth And Headache Post Tooth Filling?
I had a deep groove filled about two weeks ago. I felt fine after the procedure but all of a sudden I ve been getting pain in that tooth. It feels dull and is not sensitive to hot or cold but is a weird throbbing sensation that is radiating into my temple and causing headaches. There was no pain in that tooth prior to the filling, he was just worried that the groove could turn into something so he filled it. Will this pain just go away? I ve had it for 3 or 4 days. What is it caused by?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.
As per your complain and presentation of symptoms if it was just a groove filled then the chances of any nerve exposure are rare and pain and throbbing persisting for 2 weeks is a sign of something abnormal and you need to consult your dentist and get an x ray done.. Headache and throbbing in temple is due to radiating pain from tooth..
In case if there is some discrepancy related to filling that is fractured filling get it replaced.. In case if it is due to nerve exposure then Root Canal treatment of the tooth has to be done.. As of now if there is pain you can take Ibuprofen for relief..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
