What Causes Thumb Sized Painful Shiny Lump On Penis?

There is a scary looking, thumb sized, shinny lump on my penis and its pretty painfull to touch. I 1st seen it after masturbating and it was smaller. I ignored it and the small pain and now i cant even walk right because of it hurting when it rubs against my leg. I didnt show or really tell my dad but he said it might b a hair bump but the size and pain makes me question that. Please help i feel like it wants me to cut it off.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Based on that it looks like folliculitis. I would suggest you to keep the area clean and apply some topical antiseptics.

Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove. Avoid any kind of cosmetics.

Topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment are also useful. I would suggest you avoid any sexual activity. You should be fine by week.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Iven Romic Rommstein, General Surgeon
