What Causes Thumping Sound In Ears During Alcohol Consumption?

Just lately I ve had ear thumping when drinking alcohol. About 4 beats a second. 66 year old and never had it before. Ears are clean with no wax buildup and not perforated. Very little tinnitus and only occasionally. I assume it s related to blood flow. My BP is elevated (135/68)but somewhat controlled with pills.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of thumping sound in ears during alcohol consumption . The symptoms may occur diue to ear injury, temporomandibular dysfunction or a circulatory system disorder. Stress and anxiety can also cause tinnitus and headaches.

Alochol may act as trigger factory for tinnitus ot may start migraine , which further can cause tinnitus . Avoid drinking alcohol . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination and to find out exact cause.

Doctor may order certain tests like audiological test , rushing test, high and low pitched test. Doctor may prescribe tricyclic antidepressants , alprazolam and devices like hearing aids and masking devices .
