What Causes Tight Sensation In The Chest?

Hi, I have been having a tight chest for about a year.I thought I was allergic to dog hair or dust maybe. Two weeks ago I had pain in my chest, opposite side to my heart and attended the walk in clinic who said my blood pressure/heart etc was OK. I have since worked out that whenever I eat something sugary I get chest tightness and sometimes pain .Why could this be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The definite concern with allergen-induced bronchi spasm giving tight sensation in the chest. In my clinic, I recommend evaluating the case with an allergy specialist in terms of the type of sensitivity as prevention is the best medicine in this type of cases.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Purva Patel, General & Family Physician
