What Causes Tightness And Excess Thick Mucous In Throat?

Hi. I am very concerned, as yesterday I was experiencing a combination of what felt like heart burn and a tightness in the front of my throat. Last night, after I ate a bowl of hot soup, I spit up some thick white mucous. Today, I am not experiencing the heart burn, but my throat is still feeling sore and uncomfortable (especially when swallowing). What do you think this is?

Sometimes stomach contents which are acidic in nature can regurge out of mouth and they can cause thick mucus coming out of your mouth. Takr capsule omeprazole 20mg 1×PO×BD 30 minutes before meal.
