What Causes Tightness And Full Feeling After Eating?

I have had the sensation lately of feeling overly full even after a light meal. In addition, I feel very bloated and can feel gas in my abdomen but cannot expel gas nor a bowel movement, despite the urge to do so. In addition, my spouse has complained that my breath has smelled terrible lately (like onions) even if I haven t eaten anything particularly smelly. I ve cut dairy out of my diet as I believe I am dairy sensitive yet the problems of stomach and breath issues persist. Can these symptoms somehow be related?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Feeling of fullness, bloating, inability to release gas and disturbed bowel movements suggest a gastrointestinal disorder.
Foul breath is also associated with gastrointestinal problem.
These symptoms are suggestive of irritable bowel syndrome.
Irritable bowel syndrome may be associated with some specific food like milk and other dairy products.
However, bloating can occur in absence of any food allergen.
I suggest you to get some investigations done in order to look for any other cause.
Initially an ultrasound abdomen and upper gastrointestinal tract endoscopy will be helpful.
In case no lesion is detected on these investigations, there is great possibility of irritable bowel syndrome.
I suggest you to consult your surgeon for clinical assessment, investigations and thus management.

Thanks and take care
