What Causes Tightness And Pain In Chest After Consuming Mixed Drinks?

When I have a mixed drink, especially one with vodka or any hard liquor, my chest starts feeling tight and I get chest pains. It will go away in about half an hour after I do t drink anymore. It doesn't take much to set it off, just a half a glass. I can have a beer or a glass of wine and no problems. I am 45, 150 lbs, 5'6" and have never been much of a drinker.

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can I can understand your concern.
Since chest tightness and pain are associated with alcohol drinking, possibility of acute gastritis is more in your case.
Alcohol is known to cause hypersecretion of stomach acid. And this can cause acute gastritis.
This inturn cause chest tightness, pressure, nausea, burning chest pain etc.
So better to quit alcohol as soon as possible.
You will surely improve without any treatment if you quit alcohol.
You can take antacid (pantoprazole) at present to resolve pain and tightness.
But better to quit alcohol. This is must for you.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
