Hello,

You bleached your hair tonight and thereafter started experiencing pain in the temple, headache behind the eyes, elevated heart rate. Your symptoms are indicative of side effects of bleaching. Always bleach your hair during the day time in open space to prevent reactions. Before bleaching do a skin sensitivity test. Never use expired product.

While bleaching be careful not to get your skull painted with the bleach as it triggers symptoms. Do not keep bleach or more than 20 minutes. If you are using an instant bleach you can wash your hair in 10 minutes. Keeping bleach for a longer time than instructed often results in side effects that may take a longer time to subside. You can take acetaminophen, one SOS when needed to get relieve from hurting.

Take sips of water to avoid dehydration. Presently you are suggested to rest quietly in a dimly lit room. Place a cold compress on the affected area of the temple. Massage gently the area affected. Take a walk in fresh air in open non polluted area. Take deep, long breaths to fill the lungs with oxygen.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
