Hello!
Welcome on HCM!
Regarding your concern, I would explain that such differences in blood pressure are normal and are related to the anatomical changes in blood vessels between the arms.
Anyway, your blood pressure values are above the normal ranges and you should consult with your attending physician and perform some tests (chest X ray study, resting ECG,
complete blood count, kidney and liver function tests, fasting glucose, etc.) to exclude possible causes of
high blood pressure. You may need to start antihypertensive drugs.
But, high blood pressure does not explain your
tingling sensation in the left arm.
Are your symptoms (tingling over the left arm) modulated by arm position changes? This would be indicative of a nerve pain.
In such case there is nothing to worry about. A
nerve conduction study would help determine possible nerve compression.
Meanwhile, regarding your high blood pressure, I would would recommend some tips to help you have a better control on your blood pressure:
- reduce salt and caffeine intake
- perform a lot of physical activity (aerobics, walking, etc.)
- try to lose some pounds if you are
overweight.
Hope to have been helpful!
Kind regards,
Dr. Iliri
