What Causes Tightness In Chest Muscles At The Sternum?

I have a tightness in my chest--specifically right at the sternum. I can stretch my boy and feel it right there. I don t feel it much in the morning, but I start feeling it in the afternoon. And it feels weird swallowing. Curiously, it all goes away when I drink. What do you think?

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms are suggestive of esophagitis or esophageal spasms. I recommend consulting with a gastro-enterologist and performing a fibro-gastroscopy if needed.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
