What Causes Tightness In Chest When Suffering From Asthma?

Hi, I am Asthmatic and currently my chest is feeling tight. I have felt like this for a couple of days and I am gasping for a breath frequently also when taking a death breath I am getting a sharp pain in the left side of my back which is very painful im not sure how to stop it?

Thanks for your question on HCM.
If patient of asthma feels tightness in chest and breathing difficulties then it clearly indicates uncontrolled asthma or asthma exacerbation.
The most common cause for this is infection. So we need rule out infection first.
So consult pulmonologist and get done chest x ray to rule out infection.
You should also get done PFT ( Pulmonary Function Test ) to know the severity of obstruction.
You may need antibiotic and inhaled bronchodilators treatment.
So better to consult pulmonologist and discuss all these.
