What Causes Tightness In Spider Bitten Area?

I was bitten, probably by a spider, 2 years ago, June. My employer sent me to the Doctor saying I had a severe infection and should have it looked at. The Doctor gave me antibiotic cream to apply and said it should be better. Now I have a tightness in the area where the bite was (my left ankle) and the veins in my left leg are very predominant and irritated. Should I be concerned about a possible clot?

Hi,

Well if you were bitten two years ago then by now it should have completely healed.

If there is still tightness in the area then the area needs to be investigated thoroughly.

You can continue applying the antibiotic cream and do cool compresses over the area.

A short course of oral antibiotics can be advised.

In case if the infection is severe then antibiotic injection can also be given. But first of all, you need to get checked so that the exact diagnosis can be done.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
