What Causes Tightness In The Bicep Muscles While Exercising After An Injury?

Hello, my question is about maintaining muscle strength and durability. I am a 59 YO male who still plays ice hockey. I work out with weights a couple of days a week. I had surgery 3 years ago to repair a torn bicep tendon in my left arm. I have been fine since then, but a couple of days ago I tweaked the muscle while playing hockey. No pain at the tendon site, but the bicep muscle itself feels like it has a slight pull. No pain when idle, but certain stretches or contractions cause a brief discomfort. I am wondering if there is a natural supplement that can help keep muscles flexible and strong, thus preventing further injury? I m not looking to bulk up, just keep my muscles healthy. Thank you for any advice you can offer.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be a muscle sprain after the injury.

As a first line management you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief.

You can also apply icepacks for faster recovery.

If symptoms persists better to consult an orthopedician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
