What Causes Tightness In The Chest Along With Shortness Of Breath?

I ve had some weird chest issues going on for 6 months or more. It feels kind of like a chest cold, but some days are worse than others. Chest tightness, and shortness of breath sometimes. I feel the need to cough but don t have a constant cough at all. I clear my throat constantly. I ve been to the doctor and was prescribed albuterol inhaler for asthma, something for acid reflux, and had a lung X-ray that was negative. Nothing has changed. It s been going on for so long it getting worrisome. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi,

It can be due to ischaemic heart disease like angina. It can also be from anemia. You need to report emergency room for a checkup. You may be required for investigations like blood tests and ECG. According to the problem treatment would be initiated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
