I had a respitory infection that was treated a month ago and I still have tightness in the chest and coughing. My lungs were clear when the doctor listened. What can this be and how can I get better. I ve been taking a decongestant and cough medicine etc

Hi welcome to the health care magic

Your chest tightness and cough problem not resolves yet..

Hence although your Auscultation clear, I will suggest you to consult pulmonologoist for following work up..
-Auscultation
-Chest x ray
-Spirometry if needed to distinguish obstructive and restrictive disease and to assess severity of disease
-CBC with AEC

According to report further management plan decided

If eosinophila present than Allegra M drug course needed for 10 days...

If needed sputum examination by gram smear and AFB stain done (if needed after chest x ray finding)

Meanwhile avoid smoking and take healthy diet with avoidance of excess fatty meals

Take care

Consult pulmonologoist for examination with keeping my answer in mind

Hope your concern solved
