What Causes Tightness In The Chest And Palpitations?

I am a 46 yeat old female who has been having heart flutters and palputations for a while. Lately i am also having tightness in my chest that seems to radiate to me back and neck. Earlier today i also felt overly warm and then felt like i was going to pass out. Could this be a serious heart condition?

Hi,

Episodic flutters and palpitations of the heart, chest tightness may indicate a heart rhythm disturbance. The initial evaluation is ECG. But because of the episodic nature of the disorder during the ECG test, your heart may show normal results.

Your doctor may order a continuous heart rate monitoring test (Holter monitoring). Please note that disorders of other organs (e.g. hyperfunctioning thyroid gland) may also present with heart palpitations.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
