What Causes Tightness In The Throat Along With Abdominal Pain In A Child?

my almost 13 year niece has been having symptom s of feeling like her throat is tight and stomach pain for about three months now. Symptom s seem to occur more often in the evening, but not exclusively. Has lost about 6 lbs since it started because when she feels sick she doesn t want to eat. Has had a abdominal scan and blood work done. All ok....When she isn t feeling well, it s very real ....her normal bubbly self is diminished.....

Hello,

Your niece has a history of losing 6 lbs along with abdominal pain & tightness in the chest. In my opinion, she is suffering from GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease).

In GERD, when stomach acid splashes into the esophagus burning sensation or chest tightness can be felt associated with abdominal pain.

You are suggested to take her to a GP, get her physically examined, Get assessed & treated at the earliest. She may have to go through some Imaging tests (X-ray of the upper digestive tract, etc).

You can give her antacids, H2 receptor blockers for relieve.
