What Causes Tingling And Burning Sensation In Legs After Taking Levaquin For UTI?

I finished a 3 day course of levaquin for a uti and I have tingling and burning sensation in my legs that is intermittent but getting more noticeable. I wish I had used my better judgment and asked my physician for a different antibiotic. Will these symptoms go away and when? I have never had this symptom in my life until now.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

The symptoms seem to be related to peripheral neuropathy which is a rare side effect of Levaquin.
It can be a temporary condition but also permanent.
So, If the symptoms continue, I suggest to consult a neurologist and get evaluated.
Meanwhile, you can use Acetominophen to relieve the symptoms.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
