hello, and thank you. I am 48 years of age, male, 200 pounds I started seeing some swelling under my left eye I am noticing dry skin or a scab on my cheek, a little below my eye. I am noticing a hard patch next to my nose, its a bit swollen. today it just started brusing under my eye. it seems to be getting a bit more painfun just above my eye, and my eye sight is not as clear in that eye. The scab tingles, and itches as well. Any thoughts???

Dermatologist 's  Response
hi. I have read your question and understand your concern.

you seem to have herpes zoster, commonly known as shingles. it's a viral infection.

if such a patient came to my clinic, I would start the patient on
tab valciclovir 1gm thrice daily
cap amoxyclav 625 mg thrice daily
tab ultracet thrice daily
t-bact cream twice daily

I suggest you see your dermatologist and start treatment as soon as possible.

hope this was helpful. for any further questions please get back to us. thanks.
