What Causes Tingling And Numbness In The Shin Area After An Injury?

Hi, I was hit by a hockey puck just below my shin pad, just at the top of the laces. Initially, there was some tingling and numbness, but within several minutes, it felt fine. The next time I put on the skates, it was painful to walk because that top lace really compressed that area and it was uncomfortable. Now, about 3-weeks since the injury, when I first get on the ice, everything feels good, but after several shifts, that same area starts to hurt. It feels like something is rolling around on that part of my ankle. Any idea on what is going on??

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

It could be due to a contusion.
As of now you can use analgesics/anti-inflammatory combination like aceclofenac/serratiopeptidase for symptomatic relief.
If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopedic and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
