What Causes Tingling In The Toes Along With Pain In The Neck And Head?

I feel tingling in my toes like pins and needles . I also feel some neck pain and my head starts to hurt (it usually starts in one area and spreads). The sensation in my head is almost like heat and it travels down my spine sometimes. I had a cervical sprain a couple weeks back and I took my meds (prescribed by a doctor) and I felt better: it s been a week since then now and I m starting to feel these strange symptoms. I went to the hospital and they checked my vitals and said they were strong and everything seemed fine. The doctor asked me various questions and ruled out a head CT and told me to take a day and see if I feel better but if anything, to follow up with a neurologist because of my sprain a couple weeks back. This might all be in my head, probably anxiety since I suffer from panic attacks but it all feels so real. I m very afraid and need answers.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted your history about suffering from panic attacks since back, has neck sprain, headache, neck pain for which you met the Doctor and took prescription medications, there is tingling and pain in toes, vitals normal, not mentioned about any investigations like sugar.
As per the history the symptoms vary with the causes it seems.
Severe neck muscle spasms at the nape can cause nerve pinching which in turn cause headache as a referred pain. If the neck muscle spasm is relieved the headache due to this cause is relieved.
Headache can have other causes and hence your Doctor has advised you to see the Neurologist if the pain is not relieved after a days rest.
The pain in the toes along with tingling again can be due to neurological problems wherein your Neurologist your surely help.
B-Complex deficiency, some medicines, can cause such symptoms; the problems with arterial supply also cause similar symptoms.
Get proper detailed clinical evaluation, examination and investigations to get an appropriate diagnosis and management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
