What Causes Tingling Numbness In Left Hand After Undergoing CABG?

Hi. My father underwent CABG on 7th of july 2015 . 5 blocks were there and 3 grafts were put. He was recovering well.. Now since last 7 days he is complaining of tingling numbness in left hand below elbow ..is this normal or is there any problem? Graft was taken from left leg .and there is little pus oozing out of chest incision site.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The tingling under elbow on left hand does not seem to be related to surgery provided his heart beat is regular, he is not breathless / fatigued.

This might be due to some needle prick for IV infusion being out being healed his changed posture after operation or associated cervical spondylitis. Still having a word with operating surgeon would leave you tension free

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
