What Causes Tingling Pain In Shoulder Blade Radiating To The Arm?

i HAVE TINGLING/PAIN IN MY LEFT SHOULDER, BASICALLY FROM THE SHOULDER BLADE AND DOWN THE SIDE OF MY ARM, ALMOST TO THE ELBOW. THE CLOSEST THING I CAN DESCRIBE IS THE FEELING OF AN ELECTRICAL SHOCK.

NOW BEGINNING TO FEEL THE SAME SENSATION IN MY RIGHT ARM. COULD THIS BE FROM A PROBLEM DISC IN MY NECK?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible it is related to a problem with either the vertebra or discs between the vertebra.

An x ray of the neck would be needed to assess it to see if it is responsible.

Some other causes of neuralgia (nerve related pain) are: (1) diabetes
(2) liver or kidney disease
(3)vitamin b12 or folate deficiency
(4)neurological conditions such as stroke or ms
(5)exposure to toxins
(6)side effect of medication

I hope this helps
