What Causes Tingling Pain Through Arm After An Elbow Injury?

Today in the shower I hit my bent elbow very hard on the temperature nozzle. It was extremely painful. I had pain shoot up my arm and my fingers went numb. I straightened my arm and made sure to move it so it would go away. It became very achey and my bicep began to hurt as well. I have a very swollen knot and the beginnings of a faint bruise in the spot where I hit it. I have kept my arm wrapped and iced to keep it straight. I just took the wrap off and I tried to pick a spoon up off of my counter and I have a sharp shooting tingling pain that goes through my arm down to my fingers. What could this be? I thought maybe I just hit it very hard but Im having a dull ache that is now constantly going through my arm plus the shooting pain going to my fingers. Any suggestions or feedback?
