What Causes Tingling Sensation And Numbness In The Cheek?
I have diabetes & Nash 50% of my liver is damaged. I am having numbness on my tongue & lips this is new. I have had tingling & numbness on the left side of cheek. Would you be able to give me some information? I really don't want to go to the ER unless I really need to. Thank You for your time and information. Cathy
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems that numbness and tingling sensation of lips and cheek with a history of having Diabetes that has damaged your liver even is indicative towards uncontrolled diabetes and tingling and numbness can be due to Diabetic Neuropathy that causes damage to nerves of different parts of body due to high glucose levels in blood.. Although it can also be due to other causes like Vitamin B12 deficiency, blood pressure problems etc but as you are known diabetic you should not delay and consult your treating Diabetologist/Physician and get a thorough evaluation dona.. An MRI scan, Nerve conduction velocity and Electromyography etc as per requirement can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
