What Causes Tingling Sensation And Pain In The Forearm?

I went to sleep a couple of weeks ago and woke with my right forearm to my wrist felt like it had gone to sleep after 2 hours same condition..after it woke there was tingling from fore. to wrist I also struggled to open my hand..I had no control no matter how intense I tried to open my hand. now I can open my hand but have severe pain and sometimes swelling especially at nights,ive web searched and seems to be carpel tunnel syn. I am an electrician times 35 yrs. my wrist have been severly twisted when drills jam and i m hanging on,no time to release15 yrs ago severely and no injuries that would cause this to happen suddenly

it is neurological. can consultneurologistforclinical examination and advise on diagnosis forcarpeltunnel syndrome posture while doing computer work is corrected psitionoftableand chair is tobe adjusted sothatcomputerisis ineyeleveltake frequent break to give rest tourist other option are wrist splinting and surgery.
