What Causes Tingling Sensation And Pain In The Toes?

My husband has tingling in his toes, a sharp pain under his left nipple, a ton of foul smelling gas and feels flu-like just in the sense of being lightheaded. No fever, nausea, or respiratory symptoms. He just returned from two weeks in Indonesia and thailand and is wondering if he could have contracted something over there.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It is possible that he contracted an infection, possibly virus since viral infections are more common.

Most viral infections are mild and resolve easily with fluids and rest and paracetamol but if the symptoms persist or worsen then it would be best for him to be seen. At this point, based on the symptoms mentioned, the exact cause cannot be pinpointed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James,
