What Causes Tingling Sensation And Pain On The Right Eyebrow?

I have been having tingling and pain starting at my right eyebrow and over the top of the right side of my head for the past 2 weeks. Today I have what appears to be the start of a pimple. I am postmenopausal and have not had a pimple in years. I suffer from migraines and thought this was a migraine but it has lasted for 2 weeks. Any ideas?

Hello Dear. There can be several possibilities. Most common possibility is migraine since you have it from long time. Get enough sleep. Do not take stress and strain yourself with heavy work. You can take over the counter drugs like Paracetamol or DOLO-650 which sould take care of migraine. If you have chronic migraine and visit adoctor, the doctor might also try Sibulium or Sumatriptan drug. In any case, it should be taken only after doctor's consultation.

The second possibility is that you might have sinusitis and frontal sinus tenderness. If you have cough, cold take steam inhalation with vicks vapourub in it. This should take care. Also if you visit a doctor, he/she ,may prescribe you antibiotics like amox.

The next rare possibility i can think of with the symptoms you mentioned is Trigeminal neuralgia. Trigeminal neuralgia is a chronic pain condition that affects the trigeminal nerve, which carries sensation from your face to your brain. In this case your doctor may prescribe medicines that keep the nerves from reacting to irritation. These drugs are called anticonvulsants.

You also may take muscle relaxants -- alone or along with anticonvulsants. Typical pain medications don’t work well for people with trigeminal neuralgia, so your doctor may suggest a tricyclic antidepressant to manage your symptoms.

Kindly consult your doctor and get detailed evaluation.

Hope i have answered your question. Feel free to contact me if you have any more questions. I ll be glad to help you.
All the best
