What Causes Tingling Sensation And Weakness In The Hands After A Thumb Injury?
I had a laceration to my thumb , I had 6 stitches, I was referred to a hand specialist then found out by surgery I tore the nerve, Surgeon sewed the nerve back together. I m in theraphy now and it s been almost 4 weeks since surgery and I have little sensation on the inner side of my thumb and it burns, and hurts to touch like really stiff and hurts to bend it. Constant pins and needles. Weakness in hand and fingers I was told I would know in 6 months how much sensation I ll get back in that time. Wrist hurts bad too. My concern is will the pain go away and my sensation get better cause it s so hard to do things with it cause of the pain. Theraphy hurts so bad but hopefully it will help. Any recommendations for a topical nerve pain reliever, you wrote me back but since then my condition of my thumb was more severe.
As per my surgical experience, there can be various conditions possible as - median nerve compression - carpel tunnel edema - unhealthy scar around the stitch portion - other issues
You definitely need MRI of the wrist and palm for the best possible cause evaluation and care in accordance with that only.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
