What Causes Tingling Sensation, Cough And Tightness In The Chest?

for a couple of months , I have been getting a tingling sensation that is usually brought on by a small cough or clearing my throat. it goes around my midsection and tightens up, it happens usually once a day I am a 65 year old man and for the last 6 months my right elbow and forearm have been hurting a lot. What do you think that this tightness in my chest is which goes away within seconds ; the tightness or tingling has got my docter puzzled. I am now going to a chiropractor as my neck has arthritis in it

Hi,

I would explain that your symptoms could be related to a bulging disc in the cervical vertebral column.

For this reason, I would first recommend performing a cervical spine X-ray study.

Considering your age, an exercise cardiac stress test would also be a reasonable test in order to exclude possible coronary artery disease.

In the meantime, I recommend trying also an antiacid or PPI (Omeprazole, Pantoprazole). If your symptoms are relieved by this drug, the next thing to do would be fibrogastroscopy to investigate for acid reflux.
