What Causes Tingling Sensation In The Fingers?

Hi, I often are up during the night with my entire hand and half of my arm numb; it is usually my right hand/arm. Recently, when I lay down in bed to read, even if I m a little propped up, my right index finger and thumb start tingling like crazy and are numb. It s happening right now and it s scaring me. It is actually painful. I ve been moving my hands around but it is only getting worse. What should I do? It is moving into my middle finger now

Based on the description of your symptoms, it appears that you could be having disc compression of cervical vertebrae. Kindly get an X-ray of the neck region and consult orthopedician for clinical evaluation and appropriate management.
