What Causes Tingling Sensation In The Head After An Electric Shock?
Hi, I just got a small electric shock while plugging in a cord into an out lit. I didn t feel the shock, but I felt numbness and then a tingling sensation, i now feel it in my head with a slight dizziness but I don t know if that is my anxiety. Should i be worried? I didn t feel it go to my feet. I felt a tingling in my arm, then in my chest, then back, and then ear and now my head. I don t know what to do.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Usually low voltage electricity (less than 500 volts) does not normally cause significant injury to adult humans. Voltage greater than that has a potential to damage various organs.
Tingling sensation in head is due to the neuronal response of the brain to external stimuli. Nothing to worry. Keep your hydration level proper, maintain your BP, and blood sugar levels under control. In our clinic, we recommend to take an EKG (electrocardiography).
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Purva Patel
