What Causes Tingling Sensation In The Legs And Hands?

I have a history of neuropathy in my legs and have had been examined by a neurologist. I also have a history of migraines. I am currently experiencing tingling in my legs as well as my hands and lips. Should I have this checked out immediately. No speech problems. Thanks.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Neuropathy can be due to different possible causes as you would know. If the neuropathy in your legs is due to changes in the spine and nerves supplying the legs , then you should be assessed to see if there are changes further up in the spine that are causing problems to the hands and lips.

There are also other causes of neuropathy that can cause changes in different areas of the body. If your neuropathy is due to one of these causes then you can go back to your neurologist at your normal scheduled visit.
These causes include: (1) diabetes
(2)low vit b12 or folate
(3)abnormal levels of vitamin b6
(4)stroke, ms
(5)liver or kidney disease
(6)exposure to toxins'
(7)thyroid disease

I hope this helps
