What Causes Tingling Sensation In Toe?

No bad medical history. Haven't been tested for diabetes either.
I been experiencing problems with my big toe on the right foot. On the tip of the big toe around the nail and outside portion feels a bit odd (raw/tingling). I'm thinking this may be caused by a really bad stub I had on the toe a while back seeing as its just that feeling in one toe. Last year sometime, it was bruised for a while. Any ideas on what it could be?
