General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

First of all it's sad to know what your close one had been going through lately. Based on the history you have shared, work up for pheochromocytoma or carcinoid syndrome should be done. Urinary VMA, thyroid profile as well as renal artery Doppler may also be needed. Meanwhile blood pressure control is a must and drugs like ACE inhibitors and beta blockers should be started and regular monitoring and follow up will be needed. A detailed neurological examination specially sensory system may also be needed and neurological assessment needs to be done.

Wishing him a speedy recovery.
Regards
