What Causes Tingling Sensation With Itching In The Fingers?

Hi I have tingling in my fingers on both hands and they itch as well, also have deep soreness in hands when I try and close them. This soreness is also under my arms. Its for the most part constant and pretty intense, but dull. Once in awhile I will get an ache in my foot or leg much like the flu and its gone. Its hard to stand from a sitting position because of the soreness. I garden , and thought maybe Valley fever. Pretty much a feel like going to the ER but will have to wait to morning as I live 100 miles from Fresno. Also what can a blood workup reveal?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Well, there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in a query like a sign of nerve damage, repetitive stress, injuries, bacterial or viral infections, toxic exposures, and systemic diseases such as diabetes and peripheral neuropathy.

There can be other reasons also like nerve entrapment, carpal tunnel syndrome, ulnar nerve palsy, hormonal imbalances and vitamin deficiencies (vitamin B1. I would suggest you consult an orthopaedic surgeon for a proper examination.

The doctor may order CT scan, ask for certain movements and complete blood tests.

A doctor may prescribe muscle relaxants, recommend physical therapy of arm and hand along with stretching exercises and recommend particular stretching exercises.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
