What Causes Tinnitus And Pressure In The Ears While Bending Down?

I am experiencing a whooshing sound, in time with my heart beat in my left ear, more pronounced when I lift my head up after bending down. My ears do feel full, no sinus pressure, and I did take 2 doses of Sudafed today. No other symptoms, no dizziness, or lightheadedness.

Hi Dear ,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of tinnitus and pressure in the ears while bending down which seems to be due to Eustachian tube dysfunction which connect throat to middle ear and maintain the pressure of middle ear.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to

- Do warm saline rinses several times a day.

- Give dry warm compresses to external ear.

- Avoid touching or pricking ear with any sharp object.

You should consult ENT specialist for proper examination without any delay and to prevent the further spread of infection. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics course at least for 5 days along with ear drops.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Get Well Soon.

Best Wishes,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
