Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My son 18, had a sore throat 2 days ago, a slight fever. Sore throat is gone but now he is complaining about his ears ringing with pressure, asking can he drain it? He is a little warm to the touch. Is this associated with the cold/fever he has? Or, could it be his molars? After a dental checkup about a month ago, he was advised to have all 4 removed. Haven t contacted the surgeon yet. Please advise.
As you mentioned you have problem of tinnitus and pressure in ear area that may be because of ear infection or injury or eustasian tube problem or more wax build up in ear or other reasons.
Otoscopy examination of ear give exact idea about problems. Dental infection may lead to reffered pain and fever. Consult a dentist for oral examination and treatment plan. If infection is present and tooth not survive by root canal treatment than extraction is a option. Consult a ENT specialist for tinnitus problem. Treat a underling cause.
I hope this will help you. Get well soon.. Thank you.
