What Causes Tinnitus And Pressure Sensation Behind The Eyes?

I been suffering from ringing ears for almost 3 years now. Just recently it became louder and more noticable. I now have intermittent bouts of dizziness, head pressure primarily behind my eyes. Also when I get up from seated position, my head feels like a pressure cooker. I went to PMD and was diagnosed with fluid in my ears, prescribed Amoxicillin for 10 days. It s ran it s course with no relief. Was also told to take a Claritin for a month. What could this be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that you may have a condition called meniere's disease. This is a disease of the inner ear that can be associated with dizziness, tinnitus and in some persons hearing loss.

Your doctor can assess you for this condition or you can consider going to see an ENT specialist. If it is confirmed then treatment initially consists of a low salt diet and diurectics.

I hope this helps
