I have been taking Flonase for about 5 weeks for spring allergies. During this period, I have developed tinnitus, which appears to be coming from both ears. It started suddenly as a hissing sound, is constant in amplitude, and continuous. Could this ringing be a coincidence, or is it a medically known potential side effect of the Flonase? I am 69 years old; the audiologist I just saw about the tinnitus says my ears/hearing are relatively healthy, though I have some high-frequency hearing loss.
A high frequency hearing loss with tinnitus and at 60's suggests age related sensorineural degeneration of auditory system. If it is too trouble some masking techniques can be tried after consulting with your audiologist. There is no relation with flonase
