What Causes Tiny Fluid Filled Blisters On Fingers?

About nine months ago, I started to get these tiny fluid filled blisters on my fingers. They would itch and eventually pop/crack on their own. During this time, I also noticed my fingernails started to decrease. Basically, the tip (white part) started to descend, and take over the rest of my nail. Recently, I have had tiny blisters on my toes which are similar to the ones on my fingers; however, my left big toe has been cracking severely, and oozing. When I think my toe is about to heal, the pressure from walking will cause it to ooze more, and the new skin immediately becomes dry and the dry layer will peel off leaving red irritated skin that oozes more. Do you know what it is? Is it eczema or fungal? How should I treat my toe? Is it better to let it dry out or should I be keeping my foot moisturized and wearing socks instead of flip flops? Is there a way to send pictures? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,

From all that you describe it must be a fungal skin infection, to rule out it you have to do a direct skin examination with KOH 10 %, if it is positive I suggest you to use an astringent solution twice a day and after it an antimycotic ointment twice a day for 2 weeks.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ardiana Sinani
