Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 20 yr old daughter has tiny bumps scattered over her arms, legs, and abdomen. The are itchy. Faintly noticeable, until she scratches (then show more). No change in diet, detergents, or cleansers that she can think of. No fever, or other symptoms.
Hello and welcome to HCM, Itchy bumps all over the body can be due to allergic reaction, primary skin lesion, infection e.g. scabies etc. A clinical assessment of the bumps all over the body is required. Scabies is a skin infestation with a parasite. It is transmitted from one person to other and is common in groups and hostels. The bumps formed in scabies are intensely itchy and chances of transmission are high. However, clinical assessment is essential for diagnosis and thus appropriate management.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
