What Causes Tiny Pimples Around The Child's Mouth Post Intake Of Amoxicillin?

Hi 4 year old with a fever of 105.4 or so off and on for about 3 days or so I was told she has strep throat and she was given amoxicillin today is day 3 of the amoxicillin and today I notice she had some fine rash like pimples around her mouth Area

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain high fever along with appearrence of rash after 4 days of giving antibiotics can be due to either side effect of the medication or can also be due to variety of viral infection that represents with fever and rashes..
I would suggest you to consult her Paediatrician/Physician and get evaluated and he/she can do a blood test to check whether it is due to infection caused by Virus or is due to allergic reaction.
In case if it is due to allergic reaction, changing the antibiotic and taking anti allergics like Benadryl can be advised..
In case if it is due to viral infection, then the treatment is symptomatic to reduce fever and the symptoms will resolve once the virus completes its cycle..
You can give her Acetaminophen for reducing fever and do cool compresses over the rash..
