What Causes Tiny Red Rashes On Left Buttocks?

Hello. I have this rash on my left butt cheek for over few years. I never really paid attention to it, but my girlfriend noticed the redness and now I can t help but wonder what it is. It s not itchy and only if I start scratching it will be for a little while only, but I guess that s normal for every part of the body. It looks like a rash, it s red and a medium (even small) circle, it looks like a bunch of pimples but they aren t pimples and its very tiny and there s a lot of it. I m too shy to go to the doctor in person regarding this, and hopefully you won t mind the picture I provide since it s placed on my butt cheek. I just want to get rid of it. Thank you in advance for your help!

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, small tiny itchy red rashes on buttock crease do indicate possible issue with folliculitis following some sort of viral or fungal infection most likely. However, a clinical examination is a must to rule out other conditions causing such a clinical picture.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
