What Causes Tiredness After Treatment Of Sore Throat?
I wen to Dr. on Friday b/c I have had fever, chills, fatigue, swollen glands, sore throat covered in white mucus that completely filled all areas of back of my throat. I am 33. He told me it was strep but didn't conduct a strep test. He gave me a Z-pack and my throat is better but I am still extremely tired. I had mono when I was 17 and I feel exactly like I did then do you think I should have some blood work?

As you said that your throat infection is now in better condition after taking Z-pac, though your doctor had prescribed it without any investigation for strep. Considering your complaint it will be better to carry out these investigations- 1- Culture and sensitivity of throat swab. 2- Gram s staining of throat swab. 3- ASO titre. 4- Blood- CBC, ESR, Ser bilirubin, SGPT. 5- X-Ray chest. With the help of inferences of above investigations and their clinical co-relation with findings of physical examination one may reach to correct diagnosis that may be manage accordingly. Regards.
