Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My daughter stays in bed all day for years and now the back of her legs are purple and she is tired and weak when she does get up. She is 5 9 and weighs under 125 so she doesn t have a weight problem. I am afraid that maybe it is her heart. I used to think it was from no exercise but no more as she is too weak for a 45 year old. She Has not worked for at least 10 years so has no money for a specialist if needed. Help me please. I am worried about a heart attack.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Anand M I's Response
hello, welcome to HCM, dont worry, its quite normal for a person staying in bed all time to have such a thing. it is due to improper circulation of blood to the heart. it would be good if you can make her walk her for sometime, so that the movement improves the circulation. if that is not possible, then can keep her changing her position frequently and getting her done mild exercises, make her sleep on a water bed that is soft and dosenot make her stiff. things should improve. be positive
