What Causes Tiredness, Breathing Difficulty And Tinnitus?

Yes, thank you. I m having difficulty breathing. I m functioning--at work, but am very tired. 2 months ago a got the flu and since then I haven t been able to smell anything. I m not congested nor do I have any flu/cold symptoms. I just feel like someone is standing on my chest when I breathe in. Today something really weird happened--I got this really weird sound in my ear. I realize these symptoms make me sound crazy.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Anxiety may cause your symptoms and can be considered as a possible diagnosis in your case. On the other hand, it is very important that physical causes are ruled out first. So, you will need to have a thorough physical examination and check of your lungs and heart and possibly some blood tests.

If all the tests and examinations come out negative, then anxiety is the cause of your shortness of breath and treatment with SSRI drugs and counseling can be helpful.

I hope this answers your query and is helpful to you. Let me know if I may assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj,
