I was in the hospital with viral meningitis for five days about a month ago .i seemed to have recovered, but in the middle of last week I was lacking appetite, and I haven t been able to eat barely anything since Wednesday of last week. I m still about 119 pounds, which is 10 pounds under my original weight. My menstrual cycle did start at a regular time on Friday. I feel extremely tired, nauseous at times, and I have anxiety very often. Is this due to the weight loss?
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Recovery from a major illness like viral meningitis is associated with weight loss, nausea and loss of appetite. However, nausea can also be due to other reasons like liver disease or gastroenteritis. If you are having excessive nausea, then you should get yourself examined and investigated by a physician so that proper treatment can be given. Hope you found the answer helpful.
