What Causes Toe Curling With Metallic Taste In The Mouth?

I am a 56 year old male with generally good health history. I have type 2 diabetes and take no medication. My fasting glucose averages 125 to 133. The toe on the inside of the toe on both feet is curling down. (Same toe on both feet). I have a constant metallic taste in my mouth. I eat no sugar at all and drink only sugar free drinks. Any idea why the toes are curling and metallic taste. Otherwise I am not tired and I feel fine. Joints are a little stiff.

Hi.thanks for your query.DIABETES IS A MULTISYSTEM METABOLIC DISORDER..your fasting blood glucose values are are on a higher note.they are supposed to below 110mg%.certain antidiabetic medications can cause altered taste sensations called DUSGUSEA.there is nothing to worry about it.regarding your toe curling,it is prevalent in diabetics particularly type2..this is due to longterm microdamage to the small nerves of foot..,causing neuropathy.I suggest you get tested for HB1ac which indicates longterm blood glucose control.you kindly use diabetic footwear instead of normal regular footwear.diabetic MCR chappals are proven to prevent the developememt of nerve damage and insensate joints.I declare that above measures help to improve your symptoms.I advice you regularly monitor blood glucose every 15days.also keep track of your blood lipid levels.perform brisk walk for 15min each day.consult a CHIROPODIST-diabetic foot specialist for best results.thank you
